Zillon and its analogues were tested for antiviral activity against Raniket disease virus and the Vaccania virus in a stationary culture of chorioallantoic membrane ( CAM ) of chick embryo. The values of non toxic doses to the order of 50 percent of CAM culture ( approximate LD 50 ) and antiviral activity recorded are presented in table below.
